Jeremy London’s having one hell of a rough patch. The job is gone, most of his stuff has been sold just to stay afloat, and now the one bill he can’t dodge is staring him straight in the face. Rent’s due. So when building manager Derek Thibeau shows up looking for payment, Jeremy doesn’t have much to offer besides an awkward smile and a promise that he’ll figure something out. Derek isn’t exactly thrilled—but he’s willing to negotiate. Jeremy may be broke, but that doesn’t mean he has nothing of value. And after a little back-and-forth, Derek comes up with a temporary payment arrangement that suddenly makes being behind on the rent a whole lot more interesting. Hey, whatever keeps the landlord happy.
